NEW SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS

One of the blessings from the Lord is growth, and God has truly blessed Morningside!  This has created a need for a new Sunday School class.

Cliff and Cara Smith have had a burden for those in college , young singles and young married couples for a while, and on  October 4  the Marksmen class began.  If you fall into that age group, come join us – you’ll be glad you did!

ANOTHER GREAT DAY OF WORSHIP!

GOD is so good, truly better than we deserve! Last Sunday was wonderful, we had a house full and several visitors. Brother Cliff and the MORNINGSIDE CHOIR out did themselves again, great job everyone. The altars were busy, to GOD be the glory!

If you are looking for a great loving church, please give us a try, you’ll be glad you did.

Friend Day Sunday November 4, 2012

Friend Day is Sunday, November the 4th.  Bring friends and be a friend by coming to join us!  We look forward to seeing you at church that morning!

YOUTH CAMP!

Today is Saturday. Last evening around 6:30 pm the MORNINGSIDE VANS rolled into the parking lot, where parents were waiting to take their children home from 5 days of youth camp.  We had a great time at THE ROYAL C RANCH, in Eufaula, Oaklahoma.  JR. McDonald, sure knows how to do camp right!  He and his staff are the best I’ve ever had the privilage to be around. We took 30 all together, had 3 saved and the alters were full every night. Bro.Hal Hightower always does a great job reaching people of all ages. There was also a new face this time, Bro. Jonathan Wells and his puppet Oscar. The children loved this man and his messages.

Remember GOD loves you.

Baked Goods Auction for Youth Camp

Sunday, June 10 after the evening service there will be a baked goods auction in the big fellowship hall to raise money for youth camp.  Roy Stull will be our auctioneer, come join in the fun and watch the bidding battle for our ladies’ mouth-watering creations!

May Fellowship: Mother/Daughter Tea

Our May Ladies’ fellowship was a mother/daughter evening tea, wity the theme Pretty in Silhouette.  Our decorations were absolutely beautiful, thanks to a very talented decorating team!  Ladies brought their favorite finger foods to share.   Mrs. Debbie presented a devotion in line with the theme, highlighting the importance of presenting the best possible “silhouette” for our Christian walk.  One of our ladies gave her testimony, and we enjoyed a couple of contests before calling it an evening.  The next fellowship will be June 12 at 6:00 p.m.  Don’t miss it!

Spring Ladies’ Bible Study

Our current Monday noon study is all about the tabernacle – from the Ark of the Covenant, to the tapestries and coverings.  Did you know the curtains of the tabernacle were 4 stories high?  That’s quite a load to haul 40 years in the desert!  And that’s just the curtains – there was a lot more to it than that.  Come join us, find out more!

Current Ladies’ Bible Study Series

Our ladies have been learning in-depth Bible study using a study Bible, concordance, Bible dictionary, and other resources.  Reading the Bible is an essential part of the Christian walk; in-depth study gives us a better understanding of what we read, which brings us closer to God.  Don’t miss it!

March Ladies’ Fellowship

The March Ladies’ Fellowship was held Monday, March 20 at 6:00 pm.  Our theme was St. Patrick’s day, and the menu was stuff-your own baked potato.  We had 13 in attendance.  Mrs. Debbie McBride gave the devotional on the Christian’s treasure of a promised home in Heaven with Christ.  Mrs. Dorothy Shifflett gave her testimony. Games were played, and a good time was had by all.  Reports were given of the progress of our various ladies’ ministries.  Thanks to Mrs. Dorothy Shifflett and Tammy Moore for the decorations, potatoes, and desserts!   Our next fellowship will be April 10 at 6pm.  See you there!
